Birthday card – Embossing with dies – Mama Elephant Carried Away

Sharing is caring!

Last week I found out (the hard way) that I had NO birthday cards in my big box full of cards!  I know!  I was shocked too!  Thankfully I do have a box of card blanks, and I was able to quickly throw a die-cut and pre stamped & matted greeting onto one of those *phew*.  So now I’m on a mission to make a bunch of new birthday cards, and I thought I’d start small.

For this card I used my new Spellbinders embossing mat, and I’m really impressed with how well this works!  Now my dies have a whole new lease of life, as this mat allows me to emboss with them.  Oh yeah … it’s very cool!  The video is down below so you can see how it works, and it’s a pretty nifty tool to add to your papercrafting tool kit.

I’ve also used a sweet and subtle dotting technique for the blue of the sky, which is subtle and so easy to do.
