Faux Balloons – Bork video series, Day 4

Bork, Ink Road Stamps, video series, Australia

Welcome to Day 4 of this seven part video series!  Yesterday I showed you how to stamp a rainbow using solid stamps, in the round.  If you missed that video, you can check it out HERE.

All week I will be featuring the adorable Bork stamp set by Ink Road Stamps, showing different techniques and ideas to get the most from this flexible stamp set. Today I am also going to feature some accessories from the equally adorable Pawsome stamp set by Waffleflower, and sentiment from Beam Me Up stamp set by Lawn Fawn.

In today’s video I’m going to show you how I created faux balloons using cardstock, white embossing powder and a white gel pen.

LESSON 4 – Turn your stamp into an imitation of itself.  Why not turn your image into a balloon, a statue or a topiary tree.  Using different effects on a stamped image, you can make it look like something else.

The first thing I did was stamp and emboss the poodle onto various shades of pink cardstock.  Yes, it’s another monochromatic card, but it doesn’t have to be … you can choose any colour scheme you like!.

The second thing I did was to use the white gel pen to draw the balloon tie and shine marks onto the embossed poodles.

This turned out so much nicer than I expected it to, and mixing in another dog themed stamp set’s accessories worked really well, despite the dogs in Pawsome being much smaller than the dogs in Bork. Don’t be afraid to mix & match your brands!
