Welcome to Day 7 of this seven part video series! Yesterday I added a little tilt and kept it simple. If you missed that video, you can check it out HERE.
All week I have been featuring the adorable Bork stamp set by Ink Road Stamps, showing different techniques and ideas to get the most from this flexible stamp set. Today I am also using sentiments from Beam Me Up by Lawn Fawn and the Sunshine texture stamp by Darkroom Door.
In todays video I’m building up layers using leftovers from my stash, as well as adding a subtle watermark stamp to the background.
LESSON 7 – There’s nothing wrong with white space, but if you find it just too boring, you can try adding a watermark by stamping with clear embossing ink (which works particularly well on darker coloured card & paper).
The first thing I did was raid my red scrap card & paper folder for shades of red that would work together well. They don’t have to be from a coordinated paper range (although that’s pretty much a guarantee that they’ll look great together).
The second thing I did was to mix up three different brands for this card … Ink Road Stamps + Darkroom Door + Lawn Fawn. They are all very different styles of stamp design, but they came together beautifully to create a fun card.
Ink Road Stamps – Bork
Lawn Fawn – Beam Me Up
Darkroom Door – Texture Stamp, Sunshine
Tonic Tim Holtz Travel Stamp Platform
Ranger Archival Jet Black ink pad
Distress Ink Clear Embossing ink pad (Versamark would also work)
White cardstock – 1 x A5 + scraps
1.5″ faux pierced circle die
Big Shot die cut machine (or similar)
Double sided tape 3mm
Red cardstock & pattern paper scraps
Cards like this, with little clusters of scraps & random embellishments are a great way to use up some of those smaller pieces in your stash. Why not make a bunch of them, and then just add a sentiment when you need a card fast!
I do hope that you have picked up some new ideas during this video series to help stretch your stamp sets further. If you enjoyed this videos, why not subscribe to my channel so you are first to see new videos when the next series is live. Thanks so much for watching!
