Ransom Bookmark – Bork video series, Day 5

Bork, Ink Road Stamps, video series, Australia

Sharing is caring!

Welcome to Day 5 of this seven part video series!  Yesterday we explored ways to get the best value from your stamp sets by making the images look like an imitation of themselves in a different medium.  If you missed that video, you can check it out HERE.

All week I will be featuring the adorable Bork stamp set by Ink Road Stamps, showing different techniques and ideas to get the most from this flexible stamp set.

In today’s video I’m going to show you how I utilised the sentiment stamp to create a rather neat (and probably very easy to trace) ransom note effect.

LESSON 5 – There’s no rule that says you have to make cards with stamps! Use the same techniques and products to create embellishments for scrapbook layouts, create a bookmark, make your own Project Life cards, create a scene in a frame or decorate your planner.

The first thing I did was dig through my blue scrap pocket for a variety of blue cardstock pieces which would coordinate (these are all quite dusty blues).

The second thing I did was some creative masking before inking up the stamp. Now, if I had been making a big batch of bookmarks, I would simply have stamped the entire sentiment onto each shade of blue cardstock, then cut the words apart, resulting in 7 bookmarks each with different colour words, but each would also be different combos.

Remember … when you’re making a bookmark, keep it flat!  Chunky embellishments are likely to damage the pages inside the book.
