This standing star effect cards is the hottest card on one of the cardmaking groups I belong to on Facebook … everybody is making them! It was difficult to find a tutorial for it at first, and when I did find one, it was in German! But it is a really simple card, very fun to make, and just a little bit addictive.
So … today … I thought I’d throw my hat into the star effect card tutorial ring, as it were, and show you how I made mine. This is an excellent stashbusting project, and while I used some 6×6 cardstock & pattern paper from The Reject Shop (of all places!), you could get 4 of these babies from a single sheet of 12×12 cardstock and 12×12 pattern paper with ease! First, let’s take a look at the card … because it has monkeys and bananas 😀
Next, let’s take a look at the basic template that will help you make this card … I promise it will make more sense as you watch the video 🙂

Great looking card! I’m currently making this and have botched up the lining of the stars (as in the banana paper)… I only had 3 bits of lining that fit (the 4th piece was backwards!)…. Such a dufus I am 😉
