Hi … my name is Dawn … I’m a KennyK DT member!

Hi folks!

For those who are new here … welcome!  My name is Dawn, and I am on my 2nd time around as a DT member for KennyK Stamps.  I was a member waaaaay back in 2011, and had to step down to spend more time with my kids.  Boy was I excited to be invited to rejoin the team in 2015 … and my role is a little bit different to the other awesome DT members, as my projects are more often found in craft magazines and tutorial videos than challenges 😉

So … I wanted to tell you a bit about my favourite KennyK card … it’s this one …

Blog hop 1 reduced

You see … in April 2011, Japan was hit with the mother of all big waves and an earthquake.  You might remember seeing it on the news for days and weeks.  We ran a blog hop, and KennyK offered this image for $1 as a fundraiser.  I was privileged to be a part of it.  Since then, we have hosted a lovely Japanese exchange student in our home, and my daughter travelled to Japan on a school trip, and experienced the beauty and culture that Japan had to offer.  That’s why this is my favourite card.

Here are my ingredients:
KennyK digital stamp: Girl DJCopic Markers:
Skin E50, E51, E53,
Tongue E93, E95, E97,
Whites B000, B00,
Hair RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29 & Pink Spica,
Shirt YR00, YR02, YR04, YR07,
Pants G24, YG63, YG67, G94, G99,
Tshirt R00, R02, R05,
Star Y06 & Gold Spica,
Black C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, Deck Y21, Y23, Y26, R27, R29
Distress Ink: Worn Lipstick
Pattern Paper: Grace Taylor stack
Greeting: Darkroom Door, Alphabet Medley

It was so simple to make.
Fold an A5 sheet of black cardstock in half for the base.
Cut pattern paper slightly smaller than the front of the card, and adhere to the centre front of the card base.
I printed the image on a XPress It Blending Card, and coloured with Copic markers.
Ink around the edge of the coloured image using Worn Lipstick distress ink & the foam pad on a distress ink tool, then mount it on a piece of slightly larger black cardstock.
The greeting was stamped using Worn Lipstick using the Darkroom Door alphabet stamps, the letters cut out individually and adhered below the image.

I’m sorry I don’t have more exact measurements, but I kind of winged this one!

I do hope you enjoy meeting all the other incredibly talented DT members over at Club KennyK.  Look forward to seeing your entries in the first CKK challenge!
