Digital stamps are already an incredible cheap and cheerful option for colourists. I mean … you can resize them, merge them with other stamps without having to fussy cut a mask, flip them over (perfect for spinner cards) with next to no effort … they’re incredibly affordable AND the only space they take up is on your hard drive!
But did you know that there are other things you can do with digital stamps … more than just print, colour, make a card?! One of my favourite things to do is to paint using my digital stamps. You see … I loooooooove painting, in fact, I don’t get to do it anywhere near as much as I would like … but I’m terrible at drawing. So my happy place is taking a fave digital stamp, and getting my painting fix using an image drawn by someone with way more drawing talent that I have!
For last weeks Club KennyK challenge, this was my entry using the new Bride of Frankie image. I mean … how gorgeous is she?!
I created an 8″ x 8″ document in Photoshop, added the Bride of Frankie digital stamp and sized her to fit, then added text (font CBX-MrsMorgan), and printed it onto regular paper. For the rest of the project, you can watch the video below to see it all come together! All up this canvas took 3 hours 15 minutes to paint (video is fast motion … because life is short, people!), and will sit by my front door next month, waiting for party guests and trick or treaters (we get more than you might think!)
Let’s talk ingredients! You could use any paints and brushes you have to hand (I do recommend a good liner brush, but it doesn’t have to be expensive), but here’s the list of the exact items I used.
