Layering/Colouring Stencils
Layering stencils are an excellent option for those who want fun coloured images for their projects, but aren’t really into Copic markers or coloured pencils. If you have some colourful ink pads (dye, pigment or other … you can get an ink pad guide via my home page) and some brushes, you can achieve stunning results with layering stencils. Colouring stencils are a little bit different, and Lawn Fawn is leading the way in this category. This year they unveiled colouring stencils that coordinate with their most popular (and new) stamp sets. They layer for incredibly quick colouring of stamped images, and you can find them HERE.
There are a number of companies making excellent colouring stencils, including Altenew, Lawn Fawn, Gina K Designs, Honey Bee Stamps, Trinity Stamps, Pinkfresh Studio and Pretty Pink Posh.
The stencil set featured here is ‘Gilded Rose’ by Altenew (my personal favourite layering stencil set). While it doesn’t have a coordinating die or stamp set, this one does have a coordinating hot foil plate. It can be used on its own, though, with stunning results.
