Every now and then it’s good to build up a bit of a stash of cards so that you can send them out quickly when you need to. Given the crazy hot & cold weather we’ve had this winter, all I’m seeing is a Facebook newsfeed full of people who are sick … and boy have there been some full-on viruses doing the rounds this season!!! So this week I made up this budget batch of mini ‘Get Well Soon’ cards using Lawn Fawn’s ‘Get Well Soon’ mini stamp set.
There are a few reasons I like this set so much. It’s adorable, for starters … and it’s a really well priced stamp set! It’s quick to colour, and the tiny stamps can also be used to create coordinating patterned cardstock.
This set of cards is seriously budget friendly … just take a look at the list of ingredients.
Stamps: Lawn Fawn ‘Get Well Soon’
Pattern Paper: Best of Pebbles 12×12 paper pad
3 x A4 white cardstock (each sheet cut into 4 = 12 card bases)
Black ink pads: Memento Tuxedo Black + Ranger Archival Jet Black
Distress Ink: Fosilized Amber
COPIC
Bird – Y21, Y23, Y17 (body), YR2 (beak), B0000, B000 (hat)
Bandaid – E31, E55, E23
Bottle – B0000, B000, Y11, Y13, Y21, Y17, YR2
Acrylic Block OR Misti Stamping Tool
White cardstock cut using stitched dies (rectangle 2″ x 3.25″, circle 2″) *Blending card is ideal
My new favourite thing is to stamp inside the card, in this case, just using the tiny heart stamp in a trio to left, and single lower right. I also stamped the back of each card with a fun ‘handmade’ stamp from Sweet Stamp Shop, and topped it with a yellow heart.
If there is a Lawn Fawn stamp or die set that you desperately crave, but you can’t find it in the shop, I will be happy to order it in for you.
Note that I haven’t used any embellishments … these cards are just clean and simple! Let’s go to the video to see how it’s done…
Great video, Dawn. Mass production in action! Love it! Love how you tape the card bases to patterned paper. Great tip.
Thanks Jennifer! I think the best part about batch cardmaking, apart from always having a card when you need it, is that you can give away a whole lot of cards to family, friends or charities AND … no leftovers!
